With my fifth NaNoWriMo and my fifth win this year (Go me!) I thought maybe it was time to celebrate by creating a blog that absolutely nobody is going to read but my husband. That said I have not finished my story even though I reached the goal of 50,000 words and my hero and heroine still need to find a way out of the underground ruined city that they are currently trapped in thanks to a impetuous princess they have rescued. It makes sense to me at any rate.
The thing is I found I really like my story this year and the characters that I created so I really hope to find time between kid and school duties to keep going. I am also hoping to get the other four books edited and a short story finished that has been in the cue for too many years now.
My reward this year was the Neverwinter Nights Expansion: The Storm of Zehir. I have only made it as far as Crossroad Keep but my thoughts so far have been mixed. There are elements that I really like such as creating a party (more then I thought I would to be honest) and the graphics look polished. The overland map is fun but traversing it over several times diminishes it's appeal making me long for quicker way to travel. I miss having companions to care about and the deep story in both the original campaign and Mask of the Betrayer. Overall it is very fun but in some ways a little shallow but it's release means the game I am really looking forward to, the much anticpated Mysteries of Westgate adventure pack from Ossian, will be out soon!
